Have you longed to kayak down the Skowhegan Gorge? Now is your chance! We will teach the necessary skills to safely kayak class 2 whitewater, and finish the clinic with a run of the Gorge. All gear is provided!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Participants will be taught basic whitewater kayaking skills and have a chance to practice on the water. The 4 hour clinic will conclude with a run down the river.
Boats, helmets, PFDs and paddles will be provided.
Clinic attendees should bring their own water and snacks. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended as well as water shoes. A towel and change of clothes for after the clinic are also encouraged.Advance registration is encouraged.
This is a free community activity coordinated by the Skowhegan Outdoors AmeriCorps Program, an initiative of nonprofit Main Street Skowhegan.
