Whitewater Kayaks are the most versatile craft on the river, come learn the basics of an amazing sport! This clinic is designed for those with little to no experience, we will start by making sure you are comfortably fit to your boat, then teach you how to exit the boat in event of flipping over. After that we will spend the day learning how to paddle our boats in flatwater and then current, culminating in a run down the class 2 rapids of the Skowhegan Gorge! Our instructor Ben has been a Maine Whitewater Guide for 10 years, and has taught kayaking at UMaine and in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Come get wet and wild with us, right in your own backyard!
Please wear a swimsuit, shoes that can get wet, and a fleece or other synthetic clothing if you are worried about getting cold. As always we advise that you bring a snack and water.
