    A beginner-friendly introduction to stand-up paddleboarding focused on balance, efficient paddling, turning, stopping, and water safety in a relaxed flatwater environment.

    Program Type: Half-Day Guided Experience
    Cost: $65

    Includes:
    Instruction & guiding
    SUP board, paddle, PFD
    Optional transportation & gear transport
    Snacks
    Optional Lunch

    What to Expect:
    Participants will learn the basics of stand-up paddleboarding in a calm, flatwater environment. Instruction covers board balance, stance, forward stroke technique, turning, stopping, and self-rescue basics. Time is split between shore-based instruction and on-water practice, with instructors providing individualized feedback throughout.

    This program is ideal for first-time paddlers or those looking to build confidence before exploring independently.

    A full participant packet and program itinerary will be sent 1 week prior to the program.

    What to Bring:
    Swimsuit or quick-dry shorts
    Water shoes or sandals with heel straps
    Towel and dry clothes for after the program
    Refillable water bottle
    Sunscreen and bug spray
    Small personal backpack (for full-day and weekend programs)

    Cancellation Policy
    • More than 7 days prior to the program: Full refund
    • 3–7 days prior: 50% refund or full credit toward a future Skowhegan Outdoors program
    • Less than 72 hours prior or no-show: No refund

    Programs may be rescheduled or canceled by Skowhegan Outdoors due to weather, water levels, or safety concerns. In these cases, participants will receive a full refund or program credit.
