Skowhegan Outdoors Gear Rental Agreement

Mission Statement
The Skowhegan Outdoors Gear Lending Library’s mission is to ensure access to the outdoors for people of all ages and abilities through our free guided programs and our free gear lending library for Somerset County residents.*

*Participants outside of Somerset County may purchase a yearly membership to gain access to both our programs and gear library:

  • $50 for an individual non-resident membership
  • $75 for a family non-resident membership
Our location: 65 Water St, Skowhegan (behind Joe's Flatiron Café, parking in the riverside lot)
Our hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. (Closed Sundays)

Gear Rental Terms

Rental Period
  • Gear may be rented for a maximum of three (3) days per checkout.
  • Rentals may be renewed one time only for an additional three (3) days.
  • The maximum rental period is six (6) days total.
Membership Requirements
  • A valid photo ID is required for all rentals.
  • Memberships must be renewed annually to maintain access to the gear library.
  • Non-residents must maintain an active membership to participate.
Care & Responsibility
  • You are responsible for the proper care and safe use of all rented gear.
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged items may result in repair or replacement fees.
Returns
  • All gear must be returned on time and in clean, functional condition.
  • Late returns may result in suspension of borrowing privileges.
