  • Adventure August with Skowhegan Outdoors

This August, join Skowhegan Outdoors for a series of unforgettable overnight adventures designed to introduce you to Maine’s incredible outdoor recreation opportunities. Each trip includes all gear, guides, and lodging—you just bring your own food and transportation.

These programs are open to ages 10 and up, and are perfect for beginners who want to try something new with the support of experienced guides. Youth under 18 attend for free, while adult participants pay just $50 per program.

All trips begin at Basecamp Gear Library at 9am on Day 1, where we’ll outfit you with everything you need before caravaning together to the destination. We will intend to be back in Skowhegan by 5pm of Day 2.

    Beginner/Intermediate Mountain Biking Overnight

Take your biking skills off-road with this beginner-intermediate friendly mountain biking adventure! Over two days, you’ll learn how to handle varied terrain, corner confidently, use your gears effectively, and ride safely on singletrack trails. This trip is perfect for those who’ve only mountain biked casually and want to try mountain biking for the first time—or for anyone looking for a guided intro to Maine’s trail systems.

This trip requires periods of strenuous uphill riding.

    Cost: $50 for adults
What’s included: Lodging @ MHT, mountain bike, helmet, basic repair kit, lodging at the hut, experienced guides
