  • This full-day field trip is designed for individuals in Somerset County with physical disabilities and their families who are interested in exploring accessible outdoor recreation opportunities in Maine.

    Hosted in collaboration with the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center and supported by Skowhegan Outdoors, this program will introduce participants to inclusive resources and adaptive gear available throughout the state. We will meet at the Skowhegan Outdoors Basecamp Gear Library at 9:00 AM and caravan to the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center in Brunswick, where we will tour the facility and the Enchanted Forest Trails, learn about the Adaptive Gear Library, and meet with Founder Bruce Albiston and Director Kayla Lee. After lunch, we will continue our journey to EVO Rock + Fitness in Portland for a hands-on climbing session using assistive equipment.

    This program is offered free of charge by Skowhegan Outdoors. Lunch, snacks, and program fees are included. Transportation is not provided. An optional Zoom info session for interested participants will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00pm.     This program is open to all ages and bodies.
