  • Already familiar with the sport of Stand Up Paddling Boarding and ready to advance your skills? Stand Up Paddle Boarding Level 2 is for you! This is an intermediate course, and best suited for paddlers who already have experience paddle boarding.


    WHAT TO EXPECT?

    Skowhegan Outdoors is excited to announce that Mary McCann-Baker will lead Stand Up Paddle Boarding Level 2 instruction at the clinic. McCann-Baker lives locally in Somerset County and she is an American Canoe Association certified instructor in Kayaking, Stand up Paddle Board and Canoe. Mary has taught paddlesports for children and adults and is excited to share that in the community.

    Stand Up Paddle Boarding Level II is designed for participants who are already comfortable on SUPs.  The clinic will focus on advanced skills.

    The clinic is FREE to attend, but space is limited. Sign up today.


    Clinic participants will have the opportunity to see and/or experience (challenge by choice):

    - more ways to move the board such as turning, moving sideways, foot positions
    - dealing with wind and or waves
    - helping another paddler on their board after a fall
    - planning for longer outings

    Boards, paddles and PFDs will be provided. SPACE IS LIMITED.


    Participants should wear comfortable clothing they don’t mind getting wet, swim suits or quick dry shorts & tops are great! Remember to pack a towel, sunscreen, hat and/or sunglasses. And of course, a water bottle and light snack is recommended too.
