  • Experience the Kennebec River in a new way. Join us on a family-friendly bike ride on the Kennebec Valley Trail (KVT).

    WHAT TO EXPECT?

We’ll go at a leisurely pace, soaking up scenic views, as we pedal along the southern portion of the KVT. All rider levels are welcome, and beginners are encouraged to sign up and ride with us! We’ll ride for approximately 1 hour and this will be an out and back route.
Trail conditions are ever changing, but you can expect a mostly gravel surface, with rolling dips, a couple of bridges and several road crossings too. A mountain bike, gravel bike or similar bike with a larger tire will work best. Need equipment? Borrow a bike and/or helmet from our FREE Gear Lending Library at Basecamp.

Safety first! Riders must wear a helmet and we stop at ALL road crossings. The KVT is a multi-use trail and we may see fellow cyclists, walkers, joggers or runners and possibly AVTs. We will review trail etiquette before we start.

Meet at Skowhegan Outdoors Basecamp at 6 p.m. to caravan to the start. Exact route announced day of.
